"I'm not religious. In Spain all 22 players make the sign of the cross before they enter the pitch. If it worked, it would always be a draw."

Adelaide United makes attack victim's day!

Thursday, 2 November, 2006 - 3:47PM

The Adelaide United Football Club has given Sudanese boy Giir Mou a day he won’t forget with a special presentation at Hindmarsh Stadium today in front of the Adelaide Media.

Giir, 15, was attacked by a gang and hit by a car while he was playing soccer in a local park back in late July, resulting in him being in a coma for three days and hospitalised for two months.

As part of the process to lift Giir’s spirits after the attack, Adelaide United coach John Kosmina invited Giir to training and introduced him to the playing squad, presenting him with a signed Adelaide United shirt, scarfe and cap plus memberships for his family for the remainder of the season. Kosmina said the club had come together after hearing about Giir’s traumatic experience.

“A terrible thing happened to him and we as a club wanted to support him because he’s lucky to be standing next us today really. We want to help him to try and feel better about himself, Kosmina said.

“This sort of thing takes sport back to its roots. It’s not all about money and professionalism, it’s about community spirit and I think it’s nice that we remind ourselves that there’s a human side to it as well. We look at ourselves at Adelaide United as the people’s club, a team for the community so it’s nice to do something like this.”

Giir is a Sudanese refugee who arrived in Adelaide two years ago with his mother, three brothers and sister to get away from his war-ravaged homeland.

blog me up

bloggy blog blog blog

where to begin where to begin

Well lets begin with bucky

And his transformation into ‘CORPERATE FUCKHEAD’

Now it all started a couple months ago when bucky had this crazy idea of getting a full time job.

Then he got a job interview…maggoty mcbuck somehow managed to make it the meeting on time and discussed the economic issues facing dams today. They impressed with the young beaver and decided to make him a full time beaver.

Beaver

It about this time we started to notice and transformation in buck.

He started hanging around his new executive business buddies and began drinking imported beaver juice. After every day at work, he would call from his high power mobile phone and asked to be picked up. We were whipped if we were late.

Today I went to meet him for lunch as planned. Upon sight of me in my civilan clothes, the now CORPERATE FUCKHEAD (CF) turned away in disgust and left to go to CIBO to eat a high power business beaver baguette.

hahahhahaahha

I stole this off a comment on Dilbert's Blog:

"I was once asked by some guests to make nachos. Instead of admitting that I had no salsa sauce, mozzerella cheese or corn chips, I used tomato sauce, paremesan cheese and corn flakes. Upon taking this monstrosity out of the oven I sampled it and discovered that it tasted like crap (how can anyone eat dry cornflakes?) so I added milk and put it back in. It still tasted like crap so I added sugar. Too tart, so I added salt. Now it was just a mess, so I put in a scoop of ice cream and and served it.

Most of the guests never came back, and the few who did never asked me to cook again."

hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

PS. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH MY SHOWER GEL PROBLEM YOU UNGRATEFUL WANKS

oh what a night!! do do OHHH WHAT A NIGHT!!!

what a night!

well where to start...i figure ill start from the start of my day. I woke up around 2.30 after watching staying up to watch angola play portugal. angola - great side...they shoot from halfway!

anyways after writing off the day as i meant to be doing my assignment (which im meant to be doing now) i ate something...hmmm what was it....oh thats right i didnt eat for ages. i got ready and i used my special lynx body gel. now a problem i have and im sure someone can help me with it is: i have recently started using this shower gel...and i find whenever i use it i use about a 1/15th of a bottle. now is this normal? or am i using too much? i use a scrubber so i apply the shower gel to the scrubber but it get used up very quickly..thus requiring me to reapply. anwyas i digress. i said goodbye to harry my dog and told her to play good tonight and drove off.

i thought id pop in for a bit to see ppl playing tennis near toms house. after stopping off and taking a tennis ball for my own personal enjoyment, i made my way to work. now being 5pm now i was starting to get more and more pumped up. work was fine...no dramas... i considered wearing my aus top to work but then it would have got dirty and all pizzery. anwyays i left work at 8.15, made my way back home, ate a small meatlovers pizza way too quickly then rubby picked me up to go to the hood.

now rub the nub thought we should get there at 6pm. to get a spot. when met with dissension to his idea, he said 'you guys are fucking idiots'. so we arrived at the pub at around 9.15 to see the pub only bout a 1/10 full.

got front row seats. the $5 draughts were flowing abudently from the 'dirty' (emil said it , not me) bar maid. mad. the pub was filling up more and more. quite a few ppl from the club there. woody drunk as usual and like lately...very annoying. dave was hobbling around. neris changed his top from cricket australia to football australia. spominator was in fine voice. the affster had to protect libster as she was the most asian person there. doochi was tehre with 'titties' . tombola arrived earlier than expected. toby arrived and had his pommy gameface on. arif came. man i cant remember who else. oh big steve was there. antionio avolioni and daniel.

the biggest no show was buck rei -i am gay - tano (credit dave for the name) who was weak as piss and was too busy squashing tomatoes.

anyways national anthems begun...sung with gusto and pride and then the game got underway. the wait was over! australia started quite brightly and viduka was in the thick of it early. emil came up with some nice calls. rob was giving us highly annoying commentary such 'YES TACKLE' if a tackle was made on the halfway line (im kididng rob calm down...im not..) . i myself found hte first half a strange experience... all the waiting and finally i was watching the game. it was all a bit surreal at first. hte half passed quickly and i didnt feel like i was with yet.

a half time of composure and prayer and reflection began. i wore the scarfe on my head for the first half so thought i better wear it the normal way for hte second. also i got a beer just as the half started as i didnt have a beer in my hand the first half. i changed position to stand at the bar to stand next to neris and anthony...who were quite pleasant ppl to watch a game with. minutes past and we didnt look like scoring. i began to think a change was required. all the adrelinine had worn all hte beer off. at the start of the night i thought i would stand at the front table where dave was. so at around the 75 min mark i squeezed in there and was sitting on the chair next to dave and tom and within talking distance of sydney qualifiers emil and rob. the change beagn a shift in the game.

kennedy was causing probs for the japs and we just needed that cutting edge. then i thought...the scarfe...something has to be done about teh scarfe. i put the scarfe around toms neck and almost immediately cahill sweeped the ball in. it had been done.. the scarfe worked.. minutes later cahill scythed down a jap in the box. no penalty. minutes later cahill thumps in the second! it was done! tom was a national hero!!!! everyone jumping around hugging each other... seeing aff, a critic of the real football for years, jumping around for joy was quite hte sight. no one could quite believe wat had happened. 3 goals in 8 minutes! makes life all that much more worth living

we went to town...and parking at hindmarsh square, lots of people we running around with aussie tops going nuts. cars weere beeping horns nad going crazy. we walked to rundle street thinking we would see some more pppl there.. the whole street was people going nuts!

simon hill said when we qualified...'this is a team from every community in australia, this is our team...and our team is going to the world cup!'
and our team just won our first game at the world cup!!!
YEHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
